Funding for Examity is the department’s responsibility.The Respondus LockDown Browser is a locked browser for taking tests. To use Examity, instructors will need to request approval from their department head. There may be cases in which Respondus is not suitable solution to the needs of the faculty or students. Respondus Monitor allows a student to take a proctored exam at any time of day outside of a traditional testing center.įor the 2022-2023 academic year, environmental checks, or room scans, should not be used. Respondus Monitor is used to capture the audio and video of students while they take their exams and requires the use of Respondus Lock Down Browser. If Respondus Monitor is used then a webcam and microphone are required. Respondus Monitor is included with the Respondus LockDown Browser download. Instructors do not need to download the LockDown Browser. LockDown Browser is available for Windows/Mac. Respondus Lock Down Browser is a specialized Web browser that secures a student’s computer by preventing access to other browsers, chat programs, and other applications during an online exam. ![]()
